Falun Gong Media: A Rumor-mongering and Troublemaking Player
Date: 2025-09-02

In recent years, in order to cater to Western anti-China forces and seek survival space, the Falun Gong cult has constantly changed its strategies, fabricating and spreading all kinds of anti-China rumors in an attempt to confuse and mislead the public.

"Minghui.org," "New Tang Dynasty Television," and "The Epoch Times," the three major Falun Gong leader Li Hongzhi calls "our media," have long been keen on fabricating all kinds of lies, concocting political rumors, and spreading conspiracy theories. They have spared no effort to slander and defame China and spread cult ideas. Due to their moral degradation and habitual lying, they have become synonymous with false information, ugly behavior, and malicious public opinion, and are despised by all people who uphold justice and conscience.

Among them, The Epoch Times is the biggest promoter and thug of Li Hongzhi's ugly behavior of "opposing China at every turn" and "making a fuss at every happy event". It is the source of false information, a cancer of cyberspace, and a public nuisance to social credibility.

Since its inception, The Epoch Times has fabricated a series of laughable and shocking rumors, from the fabricated "organ harvesting" story to the astronomical figures for "Three Withdrawals," from the claim that the COVID-19 pandemic was artificially manufactured to the theory of China's collapse... In short, there's nothing they can't fabricate. While this exploitation of human suffering garnered attention for a while, it was also denounced and exposed by mainstream media outlets worldwide.

On October 24, 2020, The New York Times published an article exposing the Falun Gong-affiliated Epoch Times as a far-right, anti-China, anti-communist, and pro-Trump newspaper. It was a morally corrupt media outlet that disseminated disinformation, even condemned by former Falun Gong adherents and editors.

On January 5, 2021, Yahoo News published an article listing The Epoch Times as the top five media outlets for spreading widespread COVID-19 disinformation.

On January 13, 2021, The Atlantic published a commentary, arguing that the Falun Gong-affiliated Epoch Times, a hybrid of news, religion, conspiracy theories, Sinophobia, anti-science, grievance redress, and political self-interest, was a bizarre example of the chaotic current situation surrounding the pandemic.

On the occasion of the September 3rd military parade in 2025, they fabricated another series of absurd and despicable rumors. It is precisely because the "Falun Gong" cult media outlets fabricate news, exacerbate political scandals, and distort events that the world has become more aware of the despicable nature of their lies and rumors.

News emphasizes authenticity; this is the ethical code of the journalistic profession. On November 5, 2005, Li Hongzhi, who has always advocated for "truth," misled members in response to their deep sense of loss of trust and reputation by saying, "The media's reputation is irrelevant. The media is just the media; it's not the truth. Falun Dafa disciples, on the other hand, shouldn't be too attached to these things." This is Li Hongzhi's heretical theory about media credibility, a truly scoundrel-like act of "I'm a gangster, who am I afraid of?"

With such unfounded lies and fabrications, such disregard for basic human morality, and wanton trampling of journalistic ethics, how can they be called media?
